Gravatar Comment Support

// August 25th, 2008 // View Comments // Blog

Gravatar.comI added Gravatar support over the weekend to the comments section. Gravatar stands for Globally Recognized Avatar. Its a one-stop way of having your avatar image follow you whenever you comment on blog sites that support Gravatars. WordPress 2.5 added built-in support for Gravatars but your WordPress theme has to support them as well. The theme I am using is called Fauna. The theme was created before gravatar support so someone in the discussion boards figured out how to add it to the theme. If you are using Fauna and want gravatar support here is the link to the Fauna google code.

Don’t Format that drive!

Isn't Windows Fun?

Well its that time in a Operating System’s life cycle. The dreaded format and reinstall of Windows. I have been fearing this for a couple of months. Just like vehicles, your Operating System gets sluggish after a while and needs a refresher.

I’ve had Windows XP installed for 4+ years and now windows starts very slowly and just recently started randomly giving me BSOD and rebooting.The fun part of backing up all my important documents, media, software,etc. onto an external drive and praying that I got everything is the next step. This is sort of good in a way because i get to sift through all of crap and delete what I really don’t need or haven’t used in a long time. It’s spring cleaning for the computer.

This makes me think about the push to Cloud Computing or Client Server computing and wonder if that is the way to go.

My Favorite Podcasts 2008

I was talking to a friend the other day and he asked me for my favorite podcasts. After rambling off a couple he said “That is something you need to put on your website,” so blog post to the rescue!

Most of the podcasts I listen to are tech-heavy. Just a warning. I will list each one and give a short description of each an whether its an audio or video podcasts. I have 3 categories: Tech, Gaming, and Misc. I personally use a 30GB Zune (Brown) to listen  or watch my podcasts only because it was such a good deal. I purchased it for $85 on woot.com! The podcast list is shown after the break.
